We believe families can heal — even after the hardest seasons.
Beyond Resiliency was founded on one core belief: children do best when the adults around them are supported, coordinated, and guided toward stability rather than conflict.
We offer a therapeutic alternative to court-driven conflict.
Beyond Resiliency is a counseling center in Hawaiʻi that helps families reduce conflict, protect children, and regain stability during separation, divorce, and custody disputes.
We are not here to take sides. We are not here to "win" cases. We are here to help families — especially children — come through this with less harm and more hope.

How Beyond Resiliency came to be.
Beyond Resiliency began with a series of conversations between Stacy Fukuhara-Barclay and Andrea Blackstone, partners at Fukuhara & Blackstone – The Children's Law Center. Through their work with families experiencing parent-child contact problems, they repeatedly encountered the same challenge: the legal and mental health systems designed to help were not working together.
In case after case, families were ordered into therapy, yet therapists were often unwilling to work with court-involved families. When therapists were available, they frequently operated in isolation from the legal process, limiting effectiveness and, at times, unintentionally contributing to further conflict.
At the same time, while the court system plays a critical role in decision-making, it cannot fully address the emotional, relational, and developmental needs underlying these disputes. Parent-child contact problems are complex. They rarely stem from a single cause and cannot be resolved through legal intervention alone.
Beyond Resiliency was created to bridge that gap. Its flagship Legal Program provides coordinated, structured support for court-involved families by integrating legal advocacy with clinically informed care, while maintaining clear professional roles and boundaries. The goal is not to blur the lines between disciplines, but to ensure they work alongside one another with clarity, purpose, and a shared focus on the child.
At its core, Beyond Resiliency exists to meet a need that neither system can meet alone.
Children do best when the adults around them are supported and guided toward stability.
Every part of our approach is designed to reduce unnecessary escalation, support earlier problem-solving, protect children from ongoing emotional harm, and help parents move out of crisis into steadier co-parenting.
